Tennessee Dental Plan Features

• There are no annual or lifetime maximums. Receive the dental care you need, when you need it.
• Because the dental plan is not insurance there are no claim forms to fill out.
• Family plans include a spouse and dependent children. Full-time college students are covered as dependent children to the age of 23.
• Through reduced rates, members save between 15 and 80 percent off the usual rates for these services. Specialists in the plan discount their services by 20 percent.
• Choose any dentist in the network at any time. Specialists do not need a referral. The list of providers is available online 24 hours a day, and is organized by zip code.
• General dental services include exams, cleanings, sealants, x-rays and film, fillings, and crowns. If a service is not specifically listed in the plan, it will be discounted at 20 percent. Lab fees are not included, but are extra.
• Fees may vary by zip code, but are based on a percentage of the normal fee for that particular service in that area.
• Specialist’s services include braces or orthodontia, periodontal work or treatment for gum disease, oral surgery such as wisdom tooth extractions, bridges, dentures, root canals, and specialty treatment for children.
